Social Networking in Plain English

You all might already have heard so many words like web2.0, social networking, blogs, social bookmarkings, etc. Sooo many things often sound much more complicated as they really are.. and sometimes these words are very difficult to explain.. but now I found a very creative and funny solution: The Common Craft Show is a series of short explanatory videos by Lee and Sachi LeFever. Their goal is to fight complexity with simple tools and plain language. They call their format "paperworks" and publish a new video about once a month. As a first example you can have a look here on this video which explains "Social Networking in Plain English":

Have a nice weekend

By boss just sent me this video today. I really think these two boys are soooo cute and I really can't stop laughing :) With this video I just want to tell you: Don't forget to laugh and enjoy your weekend!!

The Winter is coming...

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells... No sorry, it's not Christmas yet, I know.. but I am right now sitting here in my office watching the first snowflakes dancing in front of my window! So this is the moment: the summer is gone... the winter is coming! On the one hand this is really sad, because I love the sun and the summer, but on the other hand as the winter is coming it means, that soon we can go snowboarding and skiing again, and this is really nice!!

For all of you that cannot yet imagine to go skiing very soon should have a look at this video, as it will make you laugh and hopefully also longing for the time on the ski slopes.. :)

Carvoeiro

Praia do Carvoeiro is the place. Its name is nowadays usually simplified to Carvoeiro. To those who peruse the holiday accommodation classified ads in British national newspapers, Carvoeiro may be one of the best-known places in the whole of Portugal.

Apart from its far-flung reputation, it has managed to keep a low profile, having spread sideways rather than upwards. Suburbs of good quality villas, many of them with private pools, have been built to the east and west of the village. There are a few good hotels in the vicinity, but essentially this is holiday villa land. It is very active in summer, but the villa shutters come down with the first signs of winter in early November and most of the neighbourhood goes into hibernation.

There is one notable area of continued activity throughout the winter and that is west of the village where the upmarket Carvoeiro Clube development maintains two excellent golf courses, the unique double nine-hole Quinta do Gramacho, and the pristine 18-hole Vale de Pinta.

To me Carvoeiro has a very special meaning! I used to work there for many times as an animateur and with this I got the chance to get to know this beautiful place called Carvoeiro! For all of you that have already been there, they know what I am talking about.. Carvoeiro is soooo small and eventhough it gives so much atmosphere.. So if some of you are curious about this little village in the Algarve, let me know.. I can tell you a lot! Of course you can also go to the website: www.carvoeiro.com
in order to get some more information on this special place!

For those who would like to see more about Carvoeiro than this 3 pictures should click on this link to see a video about the village:
